What Blizzard is proposing is to substitute Ancient items with a sort of consumable item, which remains unnamed. This thing will only fall from monsters in the endgame and will have Diablo 4 Gold a single random legendary affix which can be implemented to any item that is non-legendary.


The concept is to present methods of drama without adding power to items that are endgame. The issue with items was that they became a dull grind to update regular products that are legendary. The rewards weren't unique and tasked players into an infinite grind to keep adding power multipliers. Diablo 4 was asked by players to not follow suit. The sequel needs a better incentive to invest time. Blizzard believes that the consumable item is a good match in that respect.


Where affixes are worried, Blizzard has verified some new ones for Diablo 4. There is Demonic Power that increases the duration of debuffs and harm over time. There's Angelic Power that increases the duration of healing and buffs. There is also Ancestral Electricity that increases the chance for effects. Blizzard is also currently considering to flip all three stats into requirements for affixes in Diablo 4.


Previously, Blizzard revealed that the progression of Diablo 4 materials for sale is currently undecided between a leveling system that was finite and boundless.
